With the management consulting market projected to top $1 trillion before the decade is out, growth targets among consulting firms have become more ambitious. The CEOs on this year’s list have managed to stand out in the crowd through their commitment to advancing the objectives of their clients. They do so by leveraging the collective vast experience of their organizations to deliver unique insights and strategies for long-term business success. They have differentiated themselves with industry specific expertise and various capabilities that help clients navigate through challenging and ever-changing business environments.
Some of the distinguished awardees on this year’s list include Booz Allen Hamilton’s President and CEO, Horacio Rozanski, who has helped his firm expand aggressively into the defense and intelligence markets. Meanwhile, Kearney’s Chairman and Managing Partner, Alex Liu, also serves as the company’s chief diversity officer, and his work in this field has been hailed by the Global Diversity List, the World Economic Forum, and CNBC. And McKinsey Global Managing Partner Bob Sternfels has accelerated the company’s expansion into key areas such as analytics, transformation, and sustainability, and helped launch the firm’s dedicated sustainability practice in 2021.
This year’s awardees were selected based on nominations from colleagues, peers, and other professionals in addition to in-house industry research. We weighed the quality and consistency of the nominations submitted on behalf of each candidate with firm performance and organizational growth. 1. Horacio Rozanski

Title: President and Chief Executive Officer
Booz Allen Hamilton is headed by President and Chief Executive Officer Horacio Rozanski, a three-decade veteran of the firm and a respected authority in the world of consulting. Building on his years as COO and chief personnel officer, Rozanski guides the firm’s efforts to bring improved strategy and operations to commercial clients the world over. Since taking charge of the company in 2012, Rozanski has helped Booz Allen Hamilton expand aggressively into the defense and intelligence markets, netting major revenue growth for the company.
Rozanski balances his duties with Booz Allen Hamilton with a wide array of volunteer and philanthropic interests: in addition to serving as chairman of the board of directors for Children’s National Medical Center, he sits on the Business Roundtable, the Kennedy Center Corporate Fund Board, and the Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Committee on Conscience. Rozanski holds an MBA in finance and business strategy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Business Administration in statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
2. Sam Balaji

Sam Balaji is the Global Consulting Leader at Deloitte Consulting and is also currently a Vice Chair on the company’s U.S. Board of Directors. With over 30 years of experience in client management and global leadership roles, Balaji has steered Deloitte through its continued study of the current trends and challenges faced by some of the world’s largest multinational corporations. Before taking on his current leadership role, Balaji managed Deloitte’s highest-profile clients in the technology and media sectors, driving innovation and coordinating complex business transformations.
Prior to joining Deloitte as a principal in 1996, Balaji served as practice leader at management firm CBSI (now CSC), distinguishing himself over his seven-year tenure with the company. Balaji has numerous publications to his name, penning industry and general interest articles on risk management and building digital trust. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Annamalai University as well as a Master of Science in computer science and automation from the Indian Institute of Science.
3. Alex Liu
Company: Kearney
Title: Chairman and Managing Partner
Alex Liu has worn many hats over his quarter-century with management consulting firm Kearney, rising from region lead of its Communications, Media, and Technology practice
to his current position as Managing Partner and Chairman of the Board. Among Liu’s achievements with Kearney are his delivery of transformational business strategies and organizational improvement programs. Liu also serves as Kearney’s chief diversity officer, and his work in this field has been hailed by the Global Diversity List, the World Economic Forum, and CNBC.
Prior to his work with Kearney, Liu served as a partner at BCG for over a decade, and he began his career as a brand manager at Richardson-Vicks. A nationally recognized expert in management and logistics, Liu has published articles on topics including outsourcing and building joy in the workplace. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Yale and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
4. Julie Sweet

Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Accenture Julie Sweet is responsible for leading the company’s 625,000-strong employee base in providing unparalleled expertise on all professional matters. Under Sweet’s leadership, Accenture has become recognized as an industry leader in applied technology matters ranging from cloud computing to digital security, working with clients in more than 40 industries around the world. Accenture boasts the world’s largest network of advanced technology and intelligent operations centers, an advantage that Sweet has leveraged to great acclaim during her time chairing the company.
Sweet’s advances in her field have not gone unnoticed. She is an honoree of both Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in Business list and Forbes’ 100 Most Powerful Women in the World, and she is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Board of Trustees and chair of Business Roundtable’s technology committee. Sweet is also a board member at the Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities – Bridges from School to Work program. 5. Aiman Ezzat

Capgemini is led by Chief Executive Officer Aiman Ezzat, a remarkable leader who has been consistently honored by international organizations for his achievements in corporate leadership. Ezzat developed his reputation as a skilled executive over 17 years in a wide variety of roles with Capgemini, serving as both COO and CFO of the firm before taking on his current position. Under his guidance, Capgemini has consistently broken one record after another, recently crossing the 340,000-employee threshold and posting best-ever profits despite a difficult climate.
Although Ezzat is best known for his long history with Capgemini, he began his career in sales at IBM, then worked for Genpact Headstrong capital markets as managing director of international operations for four years. In September 2021, he was named the “Best European CEO” for the technology and software category in Institutional Investor’s “2021 All Europe Executive Team” annual ranking. Ezzat holds a Master of Science in chemical engineering from CPE Lyon and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles’ Anderson School of Management.
6. Salil Parekh

Title: Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Infosys, Salil Parekh is responsible for setting and evolving the direction of the $13 billion company. Infosys is widely known as a global leader in digital transformation and consulting services, with more than 279,000 employees serving more than 1,700 clients in over 50 countries. The company was positioned as a Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant for IT Services for Communications Service Providers in 2021, Worldwide.
Before joining Infosys, Parekh was a member of the Group Executive Board at Capgemini, holding several leadership positions over 25 years and leading the North America growth and turnaround strategy. He also served as a partner at Ernst & Young. Parekh received his Master of Engineering in computer science and mechanical engineering from Cornell University, and his Bachelor of Technology in aeronautical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
7. Manny Maceda

Title: Worldwide Managing Partner
Leading Bain & Company’s 64 offices in 39 countries around the world is Manny Maceda, Worldwide Managing Partner and member of the Board of Directors. In this capacity, Maceda has distinguished himself in leading Bain’s strategy and operations to deliver next-level management consulting. A seasoned executive, Maceda previously headed the company’s Asia-Pacific region and led its performance improvement practice. With a specialization in large corporate transformations, Maceda has directed Bain’s industry-standout consulting services for clients in sectors ranging from e-commerce to telecommunications to financial services.
Maceda began his career as a marketing development engineer at DuPont. 8. Bob Sternfels

Bob Sternfels was named Global Managing Partner of McKinsey & Company in 2021. Building on his more than 25 years of excellence in leading industry and functional practices with the company, Sternfels has accelerated McKinsey’s expansion into key areas such as analytics, transformation, and sustainability, helping launch the firm’s dedicated sustainability practice in 2021. Sternfels has also been a champion of McKinsey’s efforts to boost diversity and equity in the workplace, diversifying its talent profiles while relentlessly pushing innovation.

9. Bill Thomas

Bill Thomas is the Global Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of KPMG International, having risen from leading the company’s Canadian division and serving as chair of the Americas region. As the top executive of the British–Dutch multinational professional services network and Big Four accounting organization, Thomas is responsible for leading a team of more than 200,000 professionals around the world to consistently deliver top-of-field results.

Poulos began his professional career after receiving his Bachelor of Science in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. That same year, he joined Marsh’s sister company, Oliver Wyman, which at the time was a small boutique consulting firm. During his 21 year tenure there, he played a significant role in building the business and ultimately integrating it into the Marsh & McLennan Companies family after its acquisition. Among his several positions at Oliver Wyman, Poulos served as the head of Oliver Wyman’s New York office, the leader of the firm’s Financial Services practice in the Americas, and a member of the firm’s global operating and management committees. 14. Robert Moritz

15. Arvind Krishna

17. C Vijayakumar

As Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of HCL Technologies, C Vijayakumar is currently the highest-paid Indian CEO in the IT sector. Vijayakumar joined the global IT firm in 1994 as a member of the core team that designed and implemented India’s first ever fully automated trading network at the National Stock Exchange. Previously, Humphries held a variety of senior roles at Hewlett-Packard for over a decade, and spent the early part of his career with Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.
20. Rajesh Gopinathan

Title: Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director
Managing Director of Tata Consultancy Services and its Chief Executive Officer since 2017, Rajesh Gopinathan has raised the global IT services firm to the top of its industry. Making the most of his decades as the company’s chief financial officer, among other roles, Gopinathan has helped TCS break one record after another, cementing its status as one of the most valuable companies in India and bringing in revenues in excess of $25 billion in the latest fiscal year.
In addition to delivering groundbreaking results year after year for TCS, Gopinathan has also earned numerous accolades for his leadership, being named best CEO by Institutional Investor in 2018 and outstanding business leader of the year by CNBC. 21. Sophie Ross

As Global Chief Executive Officer of FTI Consulting’s Technology segment, Sophie Ross is in charge of all matters technological for the company of more than 7,500 employees located in 31 countries on six continents. Specializing in issues related to discovery and review, Ross leads her team to consistently deliver top-tier strategy and development consulting to clients around the world. She has distinguished herself many times over during her tenure at FTI, previously leading the company’s western region and founding the FTI Consulting Acuity Document Review business.
Ross made a name for herself as a savvy leader as COO of Strategic Discovery, a litigation discovery company later acquired by FTI, after cutting her teeth as Executive VP of Global Delivery & Operations at the software firm Freeborders. Among her many professional accolades are an FTI Founder Award and FTI’s Technology Sales and Marketing Innovator’s Award. Ross holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Tel Aviv University.
22. George Schindler

George Schindler is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CGI as well as a member of its Board of Directors. Among the largest information technology and business consulting services companies in the world, CGI provides insights and results to a wide variety of public and private sector organizations. Having previously served as a consultant and a partner at the firm, rising to head the company’s industrial and services practices and financial services divisions, Studer dedicates his considerable experience to leading Oliver Wyman in advising the world’s top companies on matters related to governance, strategy, and policy.
Studer’s expertise in his field is widely recognized: he has served as an advisor to several senior policymakers, and he has authored pivotal studies to enhance the global competitiveness and sustainability of U.K. financial and industrial practices. 24. Amy Gilliland

25. Shai Waisman

Shai Waisman serves as President of the advisory firm Kroll, having previously headed the company’s Business Services division. In this role, Waisman guides Kroll’s business units with a particular focus on ensuring commercial and operational success in all matters of valuation, governance, and risk. Since his appointment as President, Waisman has helped steer Kroll through a strategic transformation in the direction of growth and inclusion.
Before joining Kroll, Waisman was CEO of the company’s subsidiary Prime Clerk, and spent 14 years at Weil, Gotshal & Manges. Durante truly loves digging deep into how CSCI can best help clients grow and succeed. And she values the day-to-day interactions with the team in their work hard/play hard culture. Prior to CSCI, Durante served as a senior consultant with Bearing Point and as an order entry manager with Trane Company. She regularly supports All About Animals Rescue, a non-profit based in Georgia, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University.
