Reston-based Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC) has had a busy year, winning more than
Some of its most recent contracts include a $171.5 million contract from the U.S. Navy to continue providing a range of training solutions; a $79 million task order from the U.S. Air Force to deliver mission engineering services; a $133 million contract from the Navy to continue providing mission engineering and integration services; and a $752.7 million contract to work with the Army National Guard Intelligence and Security Directorate on improving its intelligence services.
And now the company announced that it has been awarded a potential $973 million task order by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to support the agency’s system for identifying travelers and cargo that present a potential security threat.
“SAIC is proud of the trust the Department of Homeland Security and CBP have in our team’s ability to deliver mission-critical, innovative solutions,” said Bob Genter, President of the Defense and Civilian Sector at SAIC. “SAIC will leverage our deep expertise in technologies including cloud, machine learning and AI, and SecDevOps to help CBP achieve its mission of enabling secure trade and travel.”
The award, which has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year option periods, and a six-month optional extension of services, will have SAIC continue to develop and maintain CBP’s targeting and analysis systems that integrate technologies and data in real-time. In addition, SAIC will integrate new capabilities into the system.
Despite the impacts of the pandemic, SAIC has continued to provide government agencies with the managed services and consulting required to keep operations secure and to aid in digital transformation. As the company continues to win contracts, it has positioned itself as a leader in this area, which has become increasingly in-demand given the political and economic changes experienced nationwide this year.
