HCL Commits To Long Term Partnership With Google Cloud

HCL, one of the largest IT services companies in the world, recently announced its big push and dedication to building out a Google Cloud practice.  The endeavor will include hubs in three geographies

- the UK (London), US (Dallas) and India.  Currently, the firm has 1,300 professionals dedicated to the practice with the number expected to increase to over 5,000 in the near future.

Both HCL and Google expressed the importance of their ongoing partnership.  HCL's President and CEO C Vijayakumar states, "HCL and Google have a deep and long-standing relationship, and this new business unit is a strategic step forward in our partnership. I am confident that the Google Cloud Business Unit will accelerate execution of digital transformation of global organizations as well as incubate new IP and solutions that will redefine the market."

Meanwhile, Google newcomer Thomas Kurian, who leads Google Cloud commented, “The cloud is at the heart of innovation and digital transformation for enterprises, and unlocks new opportunities for them to tackle their most important challenges," He continues, “Through our partnership with HCL, we can help organizations deploy Google Cloud broadly and at scale, and move their most critical, data-intensive workloads to GCP."

HCL recently reported impressive financial results for the July to September quarter.  Net income grew nearly 20% quarter over quarter while revenue grew 6% comparing the same two periods, and over 20% year over year.

HCL President and CEO provided his take, "Our sharp focus on pricing and cost levers over the last 6 months have helped deliver a solid EBIT of 20%. I am also very excited about the progress we have made in our newly formed, HCL Software business. I am confident that this momentum combined with our diversified portfolio of services and software will deliver great value to our clients, our shareholders and most importantly, our employees."
