As businesses establish increasingly ambitious objectives in the realm of sustainability, an entire new industry has developed. Sometimes referred to as green consultants or eco consultants, the work of a sustainability consultant focuses on how a company can reduce its environmental footprint. Notably, this new wave of consultants may specialize in specific industries, areas, or even the types of companies they assist. This includes conducting company assessments on energy, water, carbon, waste, hazardous materials, environmental impacts, and more. At the same time, the guidance they provide may extend beyond overall strategy for sustainability plans to encompass technical and regulatory aspects. By offering expertise in compliance with regulations and industry standards, these consultants enable businesses to navigate complex environmental frameworks. Ultimately, their input not only enhances long-term business resilience, it also drives positive social and environmental changes, which has the potential to affect everyone around the globe. This year’s awardees represent the very best in sustainability consulting.
Consulting leaders like Thibaut Millet, a Partner in the Climate Change and Sustainability practice at EY, is a prime example. As a pioneer in integrating sustainability considerations in business strategy, Millet has led EY’s Climate Change & Sustainability services team for many years. Additionally, this year's esteemed roster includes Christine DiBartolo, a Senior Managing Director in FTI’s Strategic Communications segment. With more than 20 years of experience, DiBartolo has become a prominent figure in the field after starting her career as an aide to former Attorney General Janet Reno, where she was responsible for all communications to and from the Attorney General to Justice Department divisions. Lastly, as a Senior Managing Director at Protiviti, Bob Hirth is an industry veteran who has worked on assignments and made presentations in over 20 countries, serving more than 75 organizations. Inducted into The American Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners, Hirth was recently named a 2021 NACD Directorship 100 Governance Professional honoree.

David Young is the Managing Director and a Senior Partner for Boston Consulting Group. He is also a leading thinker in BCG’s Climate & Sustainability Practice and Social Impact Practice. Notably, Young is a Fellow of the BCG Henderson Institute (BHI), where he leads research on Sustainable Business Model Innovation, Sustainability Ecosystems, Sustainability Scarcity, and BHI’s Center for Climate & Sustainability. They work with governments, companies and investors across industries and geographies on building sustainability.
Prior to rejoining BCG in 2016, Young served as the Global COO of World Vision International, accountable for its community development, humanitarian, microfinance, technical, and administrative operations. Young co-chairs the executive committee for the UN's Connecting Business Initiative, which brings corporations into emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. Young is a member of the KickStart International board and serves on the Ceres President’s Council. He earned a master’s in systems engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor’s in physics, mathematics, and religion from the University of Mount Union.
2. Will Jackson-Moore

Will Jackson-Moore leads PwC's Global Sustainability team and is based out of London. This represents all of the firm's sustainability related client services across the network. He is responsible for their investment into their sustainability teams, technology, alliances and methodologies. At PwC, the organization's purpose revolves around building trust in society and addressing significant issues.
The network comprises firms across 152 countries, boasting a workforce of nearly 328,000 individuals who are dedicated to providing excellence in assurance, advisory, and tax services. In his prior role as Global Private Equity and Sovereign Investment Funds Leader, Jackson-Moore supported large PE and Sovereign & pension funds on their deals, ESG and net zero strategies. 3. Velislava Ivanova

Title: Americas Chief Sustainability Officer
As the EY Americas Chief Sustainability Officer, Velislava Ivanova spearheads the advancement of EY's sustainability initiatives, aimed at enhancing the long-term value for the firm and its clients. She leads a substantial team of over 550 professionals within the EY Americas Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice, overseeing its growth and achievements. Her dynamic leadership has resulted in consistent double-digit revenue growth year after year, and she has garnered recognition from the analyst community. She is known for her inclusive and transformative leadership style, fostering collaboration among diverse talents and enabling continuous learning and social mobility.
Velislava Ivanova is a sustainability expert with a rich international background spanning more than two decades. She serves as the EY Liaison Delegate at WBCSD. She has engaged extensively with leading sustainability organizations such as CDP, WEF, SBTi, and UNGC throughout her career. A frequent speaker at sustainability forums, she has authored thought leadership on various topics including, sustainability strategy, sustainable supply chains, climate, and natural capital. She holds a PhD and MSc from the University of Manchester, UK, as well as an MSc from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria. Ivanova is fluent in five languages.
4. Richard Forrest

Title: Partner, Global and Europe Lead, Sustainability; Head of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Ventures
Richard Forrest is a Partner, Global and Europe Lead of Sustainability; Head of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Ventures at Kearney. He first joined the company in 1999. Kearney is a leading global management consulting firm with more than 5,300 people working in more than 40 countries. They work with more than three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500, as well as with the most influential governmental and nonprofit organizations.
Kearney is a partner-owned firm with a distinctive, collegial culture that transcends organizational and geographic boundaries. Previously, Forrest was a senior engineer of capital projects at KBR. Earlier in his career he worked with Bechtel Corporation as an engineer of capital projects. Forrest earned an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management and another MA in chemical engineering from the University of Nottingham.

Thibaut Millet is a Partner in the Climate Change and Sustainability practice at EY. With a 20+ year legacy in sustainability and ESG services, EY combines deep technical skills across a breadth of business issues to help businesses create value for sustainability as well as help sustainability create value for business. Working in this way ensures we help protect and create value for business, people, society and the world as a whole and build a better, more sustainable working world. Millet has over 23 years of management consulting experience and was a pioneer in integrating sustainability considerations in business strategy. He started to help clients develop and implement sustainability transformation programs back in 2005.
Since then, he has been a trusted advisor to leading clients in a wide variety of sectors, such as: Power & utilities, Manufacturing, Mining & Metals, Transportation, Financial Services including Pension funds and large Asset owners, as well as Consumer products & Retail. Millet led EY’s Climate Change & Sustainability services team for many years, building it into one of the largest and most successful teams of dedicated sustainability practitioners in Canada. Millet graduated from McGill University with an MBA and from Ecole des Mines (France) with an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering.
6. Hasan Shafi

Hasan Shafi is a Partner with Arthur D. Little, working in its global Energy and Utilities practice. Shafi has 25+ years of professional experience across consulting and industry, with deep experience in energy, resources, chemicals and asset intensive industrial sectors. Shafi is a results oriented business leader, who shapes growth and value creation strategies, and delivers sustainable outcomes through large scale transformation and execution. In the sustainability space, Shafi has been supporting government ministries to help set their net zero ambition and worked with the likes of World Government Summit (in UAE) on reports related to net zero. Furthermore, internally within ADL, Shafi has been part of the team shaping ESG strategy and initiatives.
Prior to joining ADL in the Middle East, Shafi was a Partner with Kearney and a Principal with Bain & Company in the Asia Pacific region (in particular Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia). Shafi was also a member of the executive team of a listed (ASX, NZX), global specialty chemicals company out of Australia. While Shafi is from Sydney, Australia, he has been working globally across Asia Pacific, Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Shafi has a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University (Turkey), MBAE from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a PhD from the University of Newcastle (Australia).
7. Katherine Lampen

Title: UK Sustainability and Climate Change Partner
Katherine Lampen established Deloitte’s UK Sustainability and Climate Change Services team. She has over 25 years’ experience advising clients on navigating the complex transition to a more sustainable world. Lampen has been instrumental in the design and development of Deloitte’s capability to serve clients in this space advising clients across all industries on sustainability strategy, operational transformation, compliance, reporting and assurance. She leads a number of high-profile engagements supporting companies to set their direction and pace in relation to sustainability.
Lampen has more recently spearheaded the development of Deloitte’s European Sustainable Finance practice, supporting financial services clients to respond to the ever-changing sustainability regulatory landscape and need for capital reallocation to address the planet’s sustainability challenges. Recent highlights include the end-to-end transformation of a global asset manager to meet net zero ambition, scenario analysis and target setting for a global bank and sustainability and product innovation strategy for a global insurer. Lampen has a Masters in Environmental Economics from the London School of Economics.
8. Christopher LeWand

Title: Senior Managing Director
Chris LeWand is a Senior Managing Director in FTI’s Corporate Finance Segment, Global Power, Renewables & Energy Transition (PRET) practice. He is also a member of FTI Capital Advisors. LeWand is an expert providing mergers & acquisition advisory, strategic and financial planning, performance improvement services, interim management services, and merger integration planning and execution. Notably, LeWand has led many cases for utilities, conventional and renewable power fuel sources, as well as enabling technologies such as eMobility and storage.
LeWand has provided expert witness testimony and assisted clients with disputes in various capacities in over 50 cases. This includes serving as an industry expert regarding valuation issues; and in his role as CRO in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He also co-developed the CLE seminar, “Economic Damages, Litigating and Proving Business Losses.” LeWand has served on boards and acted as a board advisor. He has also taken roles as interim management such as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Private Equity Fund Managing Director for multi-billion dollar enterprises.
9. Robert Hirth

Title: Senior Managing Director
Bob Hirth is a Senior Managing Director of Protiviti, a global business consulting firm that operates in more than 25 countries. Prior to that, he was Executive Vice President of global internal audit and a member of the firm’s six-person executive management team for the first ten years of Protiviti’s development. Notably, Hirth was appointed to the standard setting board of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) upon its formation in 2017 and served as Co-Vice Chair of the board until August 2022 – when SASB was acquired by the IFRS Foundation. He also chaired SASB’s Technology and Communications sector committee. Among his awards, he is a 2021 NACD Directorship 100 Governance Professional honoree.
During his career, Hirth has worked on assignments and made presentations in over 20 countries, serving more than 75 organizations. He has worked closely with board members, C-suite executives, university professors, finance and accounting personnel – as well as public accounting firm partners and employees. Hirth started his career in public accounting and became a global equity partner at Arthur Andersen in 1988. In 2013, Hirth was inducted into The American Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners. Hirth graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with a concentration in accounting.
10. Jacques Buith

Jacques is a senior partner at Deloitte with more than 30 years' experience in advising Global clients. Currently he serves as the Global Lead Partner for the United Nations system and selected (international) clients. In this role, Jacques is privileged to focus on SDG impact, Climate and Sustainability and Technology solutions (AI and innovation). Jacques is also a proud founding member of the Chapter Zero Netherlands initiative.
In his role, Jacques is a senior advisor and supports organizations in their transformation to become more responsible businesses. 11. Susan Kenniston

Susan Kenniston is the Vice President and Global Head of Domain & Consulting of Wipro, an organization that extends across over 60 countries, backed by a workforce of 250,000 employees and strategic business partners. Kenniston has 30+ years of industry and consulting experience building and delivering global solutions. She is recognized as a Sustainability/ESG thought leader in the industry given her decade of experience building, leading, and delivering sustainability solutions across industries and integrated with capabilities.
Kenniston began her career in 1990. She brings to the table her vast experience in Strategy & Operations, Data & Analytics, Supply Chain and Enterprise Architecture. This is based on her years working in Telecom, High Tech, Footwear and Apparel and Consulting. 12. Emma Cox

Emma Cox is the Global Climate Leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she drives the delivery of a client-focused global climate strategy. Previously, Cox led PwC UK’s Sustainability and Climate Change practice, with a team of over 100 U.K.-based sustainability and climate change experts advising public and private sector clients in the U.K. and internationally on sustainability, development, urbanization, and climate change-related issues.
In her current role, Cox leads network-wide priorities for the development of leading-edge propositions, assets, and tools; climate upskilling of all PwC employees; and climate-related engagement in key platforms, including the WEF, WBCSD, SBTi, SMI, and UNFCCC COP.
An engineer and accountant by training, her previous roles included setting up PwC’s structuring services practice, Head of People for the firm’s Advisory business, and UK’s Head of Purpose, where she had oversight of the internal UK corporate sustainability team, including implementation of the firm’s net zero pledge. Cox oversaw PwC's work with the WEF IBC on Measuring Stakeholder Capitalism and is the liaison delegate for PwC with the WBCSD. She is a Trustee of the UK’s PwC Foundation and was a founder member of PwC UK’s Diversity council.
14. Steve Ambrose

Title: Chief Climate Scientist, Climate Enterprise
Stephen Ambrose has been a meteorologist, physical scientist, and program manager in his federal and private sector career. He has directed teams and groups in the development of science and technology research, data management, and applications in Earth Science. After 35 years of Civil Service work related to meteorology, climatology, and applications at NOAA, at the Department of Interior Fish and Wildlife Service as Director of the National Wetlands Inventory Center, and at NASA Headquarters, he retired in 2014 from Federal Service. From 2014, he worked in private industry as Program Manager and Director supporting NOAA, NASA – and the EPA missions in operations, research and development.
Ambrose currently leads the growth of the SAIC Climate Enterprise program office, supporting federal, industry, state, and local customers as well as utilizing SAIC’s deep experience in science and technology for solutions to benefit society. Most recently, under Ambrose ’s leadership, SAIC received a 3 year NASA grant to study the impact of Artificial Intuition to better understand wildfire risk. He received a B.S. in General Physical Sciences from the University of Maryland. Later, Ambrose did his graduate studies in geography and climatology at the University of Maryland, Geography Department.
15. Sasha Duchnowski

Sasha Duchnowski began his professional career 19 years ago. Today, he is a Partner at Bain & Company, a global consultancy that aids the world's most ambitious change makers in shaping the future. 16. Kensey Biggs

Kensey Biggs is the Managing Director of ESG at Teneo, a global CEO advisory firm. They collaborate with clients on a worldwide scale to achieve significant accomplishments for an improved future. Biggs, who joined the company in 2022, has nearly twenty years of corporate experience as a trusted advisor. Prior to joining Teneo, she was a Senior Vice President in ESG at Truist Financial Corporation, a top 10 U.S. bank formed from the merger of SunTrust and BB&T. Prior to Truist, Biggs was a Senior Counselor at Abernathy MacGregor. She built Abernathy’s inaugural ESG offering for clients in 2017. She also served as a founding Co-Chair of the AMO Network’s Global ESG Taskforce, a committee of ESG experts spanning four continents. Before Abernathy, Biggs founded Dalloway Advisory Group.
Earlier in her career, Biggs spent four years at Teneo in New York, joining in 2011 as the company’s 13th employee. She focused on building Teneo’s investor relations practice and began her ESG advisory work, including counseling Fortune 50 companies on ESG in investor relations and managing the launch of the Shareholder-Director Exchange (SDX), a corporate governance initiative developed in partnership with the largest U.S. asset managers and Directors at leading public companies. Before that, Biggs was an Associate in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs in New York. She holds a BA from Furman University. She also studied at Oxford University’s Jesus College and completed Accounting and Finance coursework through Harvard Business School’s HBX program.
17. Courtney Elizabeth Stipe Holm

Courtney Elizabeth Stipe Holm is the Vice President of Sustainable Futures at Capgemini, a global leader in partnering with companies to transform and manage their business by harnessing the power of technology. The firm is a diverse organization of nearly 350,000 team members in more than 50 countries. Holm, who has 22 years of experience, is a respected global senior executive driven by her passion for helping international organizations to become more sustainable.
She is also a noted public speaker who has delivered many speeches at summits and conferences worldwide, including COP 27 and 28, the World Climate Summit, University of Exeter, SAP Sapphire, Nyenrode University. Notably, Holm established Capgemini Invent’s UK sustainability offering. She also co-developed Capgemini’s Champion Network in collaboration with the University of Exeter, with 550 people trained in one year. Holm graduated from University of Wales with an MBA and from Saint Joseph's University with an undergraduate degree in English language and literature.
18. Marcus Goetz

Marcus Goetz began his professional career 24 years ago. Today, he is the Partner of Global Climate and Sustainability at Deloitte Consulting, a company that provides industry-leading audit and assurance, tax and legal, consulting, financial advisory, and risk advisory services to nearly 90% of the Fortune Global 500® and thousands of private companies. Building on its 175-plus year history, Deloitte spans more than 150 countries and territories, with a workforce of approximately 415,000 people worldwide.
Goetz got his start in 1999 as a senior associate at PwC. From there, he went on to IBM, before eventually rising to partner at EY, his most recent position prior to joining Deloitte Consulting. Goetz graduated from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences with an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering.
19. April Little

Title: National Partner-in-Charge, Tax Accounting and Financial Reporting and Tax Lead for ESG & Sustainability Services
April Little is a Partner with Grant Thornton LLP in Houston, Texas. She leads the firm’s Tax Accounting and Audit Quality practice in the Tax Practice Policy & Quality, focusing on tax accounting, financial reporting and internal controls over taxes. Little is one of Grant Thornton’s leading authorities on income tax accounting and financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. 20. Christine DiBartolo

Christine DiBartolo is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Strategic Communications segment and is the Head of the Americas Corporate Reputation practice. With more than 20 years of experience, DiBartolo is often called upon to provide counsel to clients recovering from crisis, as well as those facing ongoing transformation and executive transitions. Her experience includes issues and reputation management, Chief Executive Officer and corporate positioning, ESG and corporate social responsibility, message development, strategic planning, public education campaigns, public affairs and government relations.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, DiBartolo was a Director at Burson-Marsteller, leading accounts such as the $50 million public education campaign in support of the U.S. Government’s newly redesigned currency. Preceding her time at Burson-Marsteller, DiBartolo served as an aide to former Attorney General Janet Reno, where she was responsible for all communications to and from the Attorney General to Justice Department divisions and components, other Cabinet agencies, Members of Congress and the general public. While at the Department of Justice, she also served as the spokesperson for the Civil Rights Division, where she was the on-the-record spokesperson for all media inquiries related to civil rights issues. DiBartolo graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a BA in Communications and International Studies.
21. Wytse Kaastra

Wytse Kaastra, who has nearly 30 years of experience, is the Senior Managing Director, Sustainability Services Europe Lead at Accenture, a talent- and innovation-led company with 732,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries. Technology is at the core of change today, and Accenture is one of the world’s leaders in helping drive that change, with strong ecosystem relationships. They combine their strength in technology with unmatched industry experience, functional expertise and global delivery capability.

He is responsible for driving growth and expanding market share in Sustainability Services across the region. He leads the Energy Transition practice with a focus on Net Zero, Renewables, Green Hydrogen, eMobility and decarbonization of Industries. Kaastra graduated from Wageningen University & Research with an MS in economics.
22. Chris DeSa

Chris DeSa is the Managing Director of ESG at Kroll. The leading independent provider of risk and financial advisory solutions, Kroll leverages their unique insights, data and technology to help clients stay ahead of complex demands. Kroll's team of more than 6,500 professionals worldwide continues the firm’s nearly 100-year history of trusted expertise spanning risk, governance, transactions and valuation. DeSa, who joined the company in 2022, serves as a trusted advisor to clients throughout their ESG and sustainability journey. Drawing on his experience as a securities lawyer, DeSa offers particular expertise, helping clients ensure the integrity, consistency and transparency of their ESG data and the related disclosures and reporting. He received a Master of Philosophy with distinction from the University of Oxford, a J.D. with honors from the University of Texas at Austin (where he was a member of the Texas Law Review) and a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA. 23. Rupal Kantaria

24. Alex Hindson
